remington Creates healthy connections to self and others through the natural language of play
I use my warm demeanor and integrative approach (a blend of art, activities, discussion and play) to foster a welcoming environment where children and young adults can share their inner realities without shame or judgment.
remington’s philosophy:
Play is a tool that reconnects the child to themselves and the present, fostering a sense of wonder, curiosity, and creativity.
While being creative, the child notices, identifies and connects to what is coming up in their body and mind.
Noticing thoughts and knowing where and how feelings live in their body will help the child with self-awareness and regulation.
Through play, we nurture new coping tools that expand the child's ability to regulate, grow their distress tolerance, and handle hard moments.

Remington’s treatment plan:
mind
01
Cognitive behavior therapy
I will help your child take on a thought, one at a time. Together, we will begin to challenge the unhelpful thoughts and over time, my support will build a natural practice in your child to become a witness to what is happening in their mind rather than a judge. I will connect your child back to their helpful thoughts and in turn support the development of positive feelings and behaviors.
Body
02
mindfulness
I will help your child locate themselves amid a sea of stressful experiences. They will learn how to tune into their senses; identify their present experience in their mind and body; and manage how their body responds to stress through somatic tools.

03
Social skills
Feeling emotionally connected soothes anxiety. Connectedness also builds empathy. I will teach your child the skills of making and keeping friends through the evidence based approach I studied while at the UCLA PEERS clinic. This approach supports conversational skills; entering/exiting conversations; handling disagreements, social pressure, teasing, and bullying; and using appropriate humor and sportsmanship.

Family Systems
I work with the entire family system to feel connected, even if there are differences, conflicts, or power struggles. I use a technique that emphasizes compassion, curiosity and understanding. This technique allows everyone in the system to feel seen, real, and recognized.
