Remington’s Therapeutic Process:

01

Cognitive behavior therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a practice that helps you connect to your learned patterns. The goal of CBT is to become more aware of how inaccurate thoughts or negative thinking may affect how you feel and in turn how you behave or react.

Rolling waves representing Cognitive Behavior therapy: thoughts create feelings which create behaviors then create thoughts.

mindfulness

Mindfulness is a practice that connects you back to the present moment. “To be mindful is to observe and label thoughts, feelings, sensations in the body in an objective manner.

Family Systems

Family systems therapy (FST) views the family as an emotional unit. The goal of FST is to “understand that behavior is often informed by and inseparable from the functioning of one’s family of origin.” Parents can reframe, compassionately connect to their child and understand their impact through the lens of FST.
